Discount/Coupon Tracking
We can help you track discounts and coupons in QuickBooks by mapping the discount amounts from Stripe directly to a QuickBooks product of your choice.
How It Works
When a customer uses a coupon or discount code in Stripe, the discount amount is recorded.
We map that discount to a single QuickBooks product that represents where you want to track these amounts.
This ensures your discounts are accounted for consistently and don’t get lost in your reporting.
Note: Discounts and coupons can only be mapped to one QuickBooks product.
Setup
During onboarding, Acodei will automatically detect if your Stripe account includes discounts or coupons. If detected, you’ll be prompted to map them to a QuickBooks account as part of the onboarding flow.
If you didn’t complete this mapping during onboarding or want to change it later, you can do so anytime on the Account Mapping page of the app.
-
Open the Account Mapping page.
-
Look for the Discount/Coupon Mapping option in the right-hand side menu.
-
If it isn’t visible, click the Customize button in the top-right corner of the Account Mapping screen to enable it.
Behind the Scenes
Once your mapping is set, any discounts or coupons applied in Stripe will automatically sync to the designated QuickBooks product.
Example
A customer’s order totals $100. They use a 10% coupon ($10 off).
That $10 discount is recorded in QuickBooks against the product you’ve specified (e.g., “Discounts Given”).
